Meridian OS

A browser-based desktop environment designed to live inside a video game. Elegant, restrained, gamer-literate — no AI-slop aesthetics, no emoji stuffing.

Live Demo

git clone https://git.nuri.works/nuri-ai/meridian-os.git
cd meridian-os
./serve.sh # Starts on http://localhost:8921

Features

  • Login screen with persistent session (localStorage)
  • Six wallpapers — Graphite, Ember, Tide, Vellum, Eclipse, Terminal — with crossfade transition
  • Window manager — draggable, minimizable, closeable, cascading layout, focus-on-click
  • Taskbar with launcher, active-app chips, and status bar (user initials, connection dot, live clock)
  • Widgets tray — clock + date, active apps, achievements
  • Seven apps:
    • Notepad (auto-save, word count)
    • Music Player (three tracks, play/pause/seek/volume)
    • Terminal (real commands + twelve gamer easter eggs)
    • Steam (spoof library with seven titles)
    • VS Code (spoof editor with fake TypeScript highlighting)
    • Postman (spoof request builder with fake responses)
    • Chrome (spoof browser-in-browser with shortcut tiles)
  • Achievement system — ten achievements across Elden Ring, Call of Duty, and FIFA, unlocked through real usage

Built With

This project was built using frontier-planner-mode — a delegation pattern where a frontier model (Opus 4.7) handles architecture and decisions while an on-prem executor (Qwen3.6-35B on MLX) handles heavy token generation. Roughly 93k output tokens of implementation were produced by the executor across three parallel streams while the planner stayed in architect mode.
